Crew

Crew is a sport in which the participants row boats. Unlike row boats the seats of crew boats are on sliding tracks, thus allowing the rowers to use their legs to help propel the boat. This allows crew boats to travel much faster than their fixed seat counter parts.

Their are two types of rowing that comes under the heading of Crew: Sculling and Sweeping. Sculling is less popular than sweeping, though sculls are faster and more fun. In sweeping each rower gets one oar twelve feet in length. In sculling each oarsman gets two oars, each nine feet in length.
